Miss Mary Eleanor Stephan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George
F. Stephan of Scappoose, was married Saturday to Lee Howard Howell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Howell of Banks. Father Martin
Thielen officiated at the ceremony, which was held at St. Mary's cathedral.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white chiffon
dress and a fingertip tulle veil, held by a halo of tulle and orange blossoms. She carried a prayer book with boulevard and rosebuds.
The bride's attendant, Miss Virginia Najewski, wore a dress of
pale blue net and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas,
Wesley Hehder was best man.
The ceremony was followed by a
wedding breakfast, after which the
young couple left for a wedding trip to Long Beach, WA
Lee Howell and Mary Stephens were married Saturday. June 24, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Portland, Oregon.
The bride was lovely in a dress of white crepe chiffon with a white veil, carrying a white prayer book with long white streamers entwined with white flowers and a yellow rosebud. The bridesmaid wore a dress of blue organdy and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas. The wedding was attended by the bride's and groom's relatives and close friends.
A reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Howell, a brother of the bridegroom.
The couple left in the early after noon for Long Beach, Wash., where they will spend the week-end. They will take up their residence at Po land, where Mr. Howell is employed. Entertains For Brother

Miss Grace Shughart and Mr. Charles Seiben

Announcements have been received from Kansas City of the marriage of two formerly of Winchester young people, Miss Grace Shughart and Mr. Charles Seiben, who were married at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning, August 10, at the Blessed Sacrament church, Kansas City, Mo., by the Rev. Father McCaffrey. The briedsmaid and best man were sister and brother of the groom, Miss Clara Seiben and Mr. James Seiben.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Shughart, north of Winchester, and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs P. W. Seiben, east of Winchester The young couple will make their home in Kansas City, Mo., at 3440 Garfield. Their many friends here wish them a happy married life.

Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Seiben and family and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shughart were present at the ceremony.
Miss Iris May Carter and Mr. Lester Durward Langdon
Young Oregon Couple Wed at Church Here
Miss Iris May Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence M. Carter of La Grande, and Mr. Lester Durward Langdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Langdon of Scappoose, were married June 12 by the Rev. M. E. Moss in the First Presbyterian church in Portland.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore white satin and a fingertip veil with an or ange blossom coronet and car ried white carnations and sweet peas. Her sister, Miss Evelyn Car ter, in a blue frock and with a bouuet of pink sweet peas, at tended her.
Mr. Dwain Matchette of Spo kane was best man and ushers were Messrs. Charles Zimmer man and Lawrence and Leo Stephan of Warren.
After a reception the couple went to Mercer lake on their wedding trip. They are at home in: La Grande.
